Luang Pu Chue Phanthamutto, also known as Phrakru Wimonphawanakhun, is the abbot of Wat Khao Ta Ngo Udomphon, Chaiyaphum province. LP Chue was a highly skilled Vipassana meditation teacher, renowned for his ability to elucidate and teach the Dhamma. He was a venerable monk, filled with compassion and kindness, a great field of merit for the Buddhist community. As a forest monk and meditation practitioner, he was deeply respected and revered by his disciples, embodying the ideal of a righteous and virtuous monastic life.

LP Chue Phanthamutto was born on Thursday, June 17, 1943 (B.E. 2486), on the 15th waxing moon day of the 7th lunar month, in the Year of the Goat. He was born in Ban Kok Subdistrict, Chaturat District, Chaiyaphum Province. He was ordained as a monk on November 15, 1975 (B.E. 2518) at Wat Si Kaeng Khro, Chong Sam Mo Subdistrict, Kaeng Khro District, Chaiyaphum Province. His preceptor was Phra Bodhiyanamuni.

He was born into a poor family; his father, Mr. Ho Sae Ching, was of Chinese descent, and his mother, Mrs. Phee Chaliawdee, was Thai. Luang Pu Chue Phanthamutto received education only up to the fourth grade before he had to leave school to help with work at home. As he grew older, he became skilled in sewing and earned his living as a tailor. He moved to Bangkok and worked at the Ko Kiart store, a leading tailoring shop in the capital at that time.

Luang Pu Chue Phanthamutto was a disciple of Luang Pu Phang Chittakutto, a venerable monk of the Isan region, at Wat Udom Khongkha Khiri Khet (Wat Doon), Manchakhiri District, Khon Kaen Province. Luang Pu was a meditation monk who practiced Vipassana and often went on pilgrimage to peaceful and serene places, especially near natural water sources. This helped him gain a deep understanding of the geographical landscapes, livelihoods, and issues faced by the people, particularly those related to the water sources of Northeastern Thailand, such as the Chi River, which originates from the mountains in Nong Bua Daeng District and flows through Ban Khwao, Nong Bua Rawe, Chaturat, and Mueang Chaiyaphum Districts.

In 1980 (B.E. 2523), while Luang Pu was meditating at Wat Khao Ta Ngoh Udomphon, the people of Nong Bua Rawe faced severe water shortages. He decided to develop the water source “Lam Chiang Ta,” which flows into the Chi River, to serve as a water reservoir for the benefit of the communities in Nong Bua Rawe and nearby areas. With limited funds from the faithful and government support, Luang Pu led monks, his disciples, and villagers to construct an earthen dam, providing water for agriculture to the people of Ban Khwao, Nong Bua Rawe, and Mueang Chaiyaphum Districts.

Luang Pu Chue Phanthamutto was a monk filled with virtue and righteousness, a true practitioner who contributed greatly to the community. His efforts extended to building roads, creating water reservoirs, and improving infrastructure. Wat Khao Ta Ngoh Udomphon, located in Chaiyaphum Province, covers approximately 200 rai of land. It can be reached via Highway 225 from Chaiyaphum to Nakhon Sawan, with Phrakru Wimonphawanakhun (Luang Pu Chue Phanthamutto) serving as the abbot.
