This Copper Melon-seed Rian (Med Thang) was created to commemorate the 8th Cycle (96th Birthday) of Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara in BE 2552 (2009). Small in size and includes a beautiful temple box.

First consecration of the sacred metal on April 21, 2009, at the ordination hall (ubosot) of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara.
Second consecration on September 22, 2009, at the ordination hall of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara.
Then for the third time, Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch, performed a meditation and blessed the holy water on September 25, 2009.

Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, also known as Somdej Phra Yanasangwon, was a highly respected Thai Buddhist monk who served as the 19th Supreme Patriarch of Thailand from 1989 until his passing in 2013. Born on October 3, 1913, in Kanchanaburi Province, his birth name was Charoen Gajavatra.

He entered the monastic life at a young age and became a prominent figure in Thai Buddhism, known for his deep scholarship in Pali and Buddhist scriptures, as well as his meditation practice. Over his lifetime, he held various important positions within the Thai Sangha (monastic community), eventually being appointed as the Supreme Patriarch (Somdet Phra Sangharaj), the highest monastic position in Thailand.
